Being born around the same time as Rap, was most definitely a sign of what I would become some years later: a pioneer in almost all forms of Hip Hop Culture around my hometown Gaia and Porto (breakdancing, writing graffiti and mcing). In 1993, I co-founded the rap group Mind da Gap, in which I am one of the mcs ( Mc Ace + Mc Presto + Dj Serial). The first group to come out of the Northern side of Portugal, the first portuguese group to have a record mixed by an american engineer (Sem Cerimónias-1997, by Troy Hightower), the first portuguese rap group to release an album abroad (Sem Cerimónias-1999, Spain ), we got a 16 year and 5 albums career. And going. I released a solo album in 2003 (IntensaMente), which I wrote, produced, recorded and mixed myself. I did the cover and promotion art (with two videos included) as well. I got major radio and mtv airplay with both singles from that record. This marks the physical birth of Ace Produktionz- a cd, an album I did by myself. With this, I proved mainly myself that I had the ability and some know-how to orchestrate plans in order to record something, mix it (even if roughly), make a cover for it, work out a marketing plan and put it in the somewhat right places for it to get to people. My home studio - Ponderosa Estúdio  now gives me the ability to create real professional sounding music. That leads to me wanting to expand my horizons production wise, and in terms of allowing and helping others to put their ideas into material existence. I'm managing some artists and trying to let my knowledge on all sides of the music bizz pass on to them. Put some new (and not so new) energy up in the mix and stick some Ace Produktionz flags on the map. I'm also dabbling with other sides of my creativity, working hard in graphic design for various outlets, including some well known clothing brands (with t-shirt prints and even designing sneakers!) and customising sneakers and other items on which I can lay my hands (and brushes) on.
